To All of Our Valued Clients,

We are writing to you today to inform you that Jenn and I are transitioning into a new chapter in our professional careers. Due to this, our firm has been acquired by NUMIS CPA's effective July 6, 2023. They share a strong passion for helping taxpayers and specialize in small and growing businesses, personal taxes and advanced tax planning. They also have the ability to provide US personal and corporate tax compliance and planning.

Who is NUMIS CPA's?

NUMIS CPA's is a B.C. based accounting firm with offices in Vancouver, Vancouver Island and West Kelowna. They have been actively pursuing an opportunity to expand into Alberta and our firm fits perfectly into their long-term plans. Jack Cartmel, CPA, CA, is the managing partner of the firm. We have come to know Jack and it is apparent that we are very like-minded in terms of safeguarding our clients' best interests, as well as having similar working and organizational styles.

What was the motivation for this?

Since acquiring the firm in 2010 we have thoroughly enjoyed working with our clients and assisting them and their families with their accounting and tax needs. Our new advisory firm will assist families by providing estate and financial management solutions — an area that we are excited to focus our efforts on.

Once it was determined we wanted to make this transition our goal was to find a firm that shares the same focus on client service. The significant advantage with NUMIS will be the capacity for new and expanded services for our existing clients and also the capacity to assist our clients while they grow and expand. Additionally, new value-added services such as cross border tax services, fractional CFO services and other advanced tax planning services are immediately available.

We will be assisting Jack and his team with the transition over the next year. Ensuring that all pertinent client information is shared and all client deadlines are met.

Who will be serving my account?

Our existing team in the Airdrie office will be staying on board and will be joining the NUMIS team. The team will continue with accounting, bookkeeping, as well as personal and corporate tax services. Our dedication to timely and reliable service that you have come to know and expect from Blakley CPA will continue.

What will happen to my fees?

The NUMIS team will continue to provide the same services you've come to enjoy and appreciate but will also have the ability to provide so much more. Current engagements will not see any changes to their fee structures and the NUMIS team will do their best to provide transition pricing that will be similar to what you were used to in the past. They will be reaching out to you on an individual basis to talk through a custom solution for each of your needs and provide a custom quote.
